“It means a lot to me,” Mosquera said in his first interview with the club after joining for £13 million plus £3.5 million in bonuses.

“There was a lot of hard work behind this transfer, and when this opportunity came along, I knew I had to take it. Arsenal is a huge club with a lot of history.”

The youngster is one of Europe’s fastest-rising defenders, having become the most-capped player under the age of 21 in Europe’s top five leagues since the 2023/24 season. He has also won an Olympic gold medal with Spain.

“It’s true that my path has moved very fast, and it has made me mature very quickly,” Mosquera said.

“Coming here is an opportunity to continue learning and developing myself. I’ll be working with top players and a top-notch coaching staff, all of which will help me grow as a player and a person.”

“I’m a high-energy player. I’m still young, I still have a lot to learn, and I’m very motivated to push myself. Most importantly, I want to improve, and this will help increase competition within the team. I’m really happy.”
